Driving back from Skegness yesterday I was delighted when my ancient Tom Tom 300 informed me the journey time was to be an estimated 19 minutes on a 98 mile route!!!! I was quite pleased at this revelation, thinking Tom Tom had found a new short cut previously hidden before I did a map update!

Preparing myself for a speedy departure, the journey in fact took me 2.10 hours, but Tom Tom revealed the journey time was actually a breathtaking minus 17 minutes compared to its start and end time points. I was staggered.....have I moved faster than the speed of light in a 1982 MK I Fiesta?????? Have I gone backwards in time and space?
I thought oil consumption was a bit higher than usual!!!!!
and if I did in fact move faster than the speed of light, would I have escaped any speed cameras? Does this invalidate my insurance because I was travelling over the National speed limit?

should i email NASA? contact the University of Oxford Physics Department? Guinness Book of Records? X-Factor? Department of Transport? BBC Radio Sheffield phone-in?
