I have a dog who likes to scratch at the doors to go out, problem is she's starting to damage them. I've been searching for a product to protect the doors, but have only found something for cats.
Does anyone know if there's a suitable doggy product available? :help:
what typr of door is it wood .upvc etc there is a product that you can get its a clear hard see thru plastic that fits the bottom panel on the door but you need the measurements and then you get it cut to size at any good diy shop its a bit like perpspex
it's a wooden door, would prefer not to screw anything on if at all possible. do you know where i can get this product from? thanks
We've been there too  I owe my mum three new doors...
Could you teach her an alternative behaviour to ask to go out? You can get doorbells for dogs which they paw and it makes a noise, or put a bell by the door that she can ring to ask to go out?
Or is it more like mine who would scratch to be let out of the kitchen in the morning and such like?

You can buy clear plastic panels at some DIY stores, some will even cut it to the right size then attach it to the door with carpet double sided tape.

putting a plastic sheet on your door only stops your dog from marking the door and really you need to get the dog to do something else before it hurts its self. (easy said then done) I have a Gsd who has demolised my kitchen door and the wood around the door and the kitchen cabinets and more... hes 6 years old and what ever we try he has not stopped. He is so bad that he has constantly got a sore nose and the vets are struggling with it. he even manages to get a muzzles off. if i was you id try my very best to get your dog out of the habbit as it can cause loads of problem in the future. Good luck with it.
