i think he went well, they have asked him back for a match on sunday and after that he has to do a training session,
the thing is hes never played for a proper team before and i think they may be a little worried about his match fitness but if they help him a little in trainin and when hes playing a match he sumtimes needs support on where abouts to stay lol.

Well structured games and progressive training sessions, 4 v 4 small sided games and having a lot of laughs along the way. Lots of different equipment used, ranging from slalom poles and ladders to pop-up nets, balls from size 1 to size 3.

Located by the cricket pavilion at the Cobnar Road entrance. Sessions cost £1.00 and will run from 6.00 to 7.00 or 7.30, weather permitting. All welcome.

Last season 10/11 SUJB (Sheffield Unitd Junior Blades) U9's went through a sticky patch I believe with a previous manager taking the club for some money.

SUJB appointed a new manager 'Rob' first ever football managing experience, straight from college. No problem. The season went on, had limited players. Bairley making a side each week. Ended up bottom of league.

The problems i'm fustrated with here is;

- When we had a winning side, why does a manager insist to change a side formation and players formations, then continue this resulting in a loss every week. (I know its for fun, but surley its better for the lads to get a win once in a while.)
- Why would a manager reject any help from CRB checked parents (to help out) specially when the manager can not make training most time within the season. This leads onto, does this manager even have time to be doing this job?
- Why would a manager keep parents from encouraging their kids whilst playing, specially when the manager doesnt do this. (Game of silence!!:loopy:)

Everyone is entitled to start somewhere but really annoys me that someone makes decisions who's qualified that in my eyes are completley wrong.

The idea of mini soccer is to give all the players of all abilities as much pitch time as possible to develop as some develop at different stages.I have had players who could not kick a ball at 7 year old become some of the better players through encouragement & perserverance.Unfortunately the kids game is over complicated by adults with massive egos who dont put any effort into coaching the correct way all they want is winners medals & trophies & we wonder why the English game is so far behind the continentals.Let the game be the teacher no standing in lines give every player a ball & they will develop at their own pace,but sometimes their pace is not fast enough for the waac (win at all costs) coaches.Half hour after a game 9 year olds have forgot the score adults dont & think their kids should be in teams that always win.

Having watched all 3 of my lads progress through Junior teams, I think the real development takes place from 11/12 year for most of the players I've watched play, anyone who picks up and shows ability prior to that usually tend to go on to bigger and better things anyway.

What I always encouraged my lads to do was to listen and to play as a team player from an early age, passing the ball and not being over selfish.

I think it's important to try and establish a position for players from an early age and to learn to play that position and not to drift into other positions or try to play more than one position, but at the same time I think you never really know a players true position at times until they get a few years older than u9 level as obviously growth, strenght etc determine where players are suited.

Like said at U9 I really think the main things to focus on are the key skills and responsilities of the game, and to ensure the lads first and foremost are enjoying playing the game and playing as part of a team. It's important to try and get a winning mentality into their heads also from an early age, and should a team win it shouldn't be changed I don't think.

Outside influences such as parents etc shouldn't have any form of influence in the selection of the squad, however should they have knowledge of how to work with children of that age and a likeable personality that the lads would take to, and obviously should they be clear of all of the current CRB checks then I see no reason why they shouldn't be allowed to have some form of additional responsibility in helping develop the players should all of the players and parents be ok with that.

This is one that seems a good idea in principle, but one that doesn't appear to have been thought through properly and one that may have been better being introduced the season after to give clubs time to prepare for it.

You use the junior 11 aside pitches for the 9 aside games, that's the whole idea to give them more space and time on the ball.

It's not for next season, according to Junleague website it's to be introduced for start of 2012/13 season.

Sorry I should have made that clear, it is for the 2012/13 season which arguably is next season as 2011/12 is this season and 2010/11 last.

Either way it is for 2012/13 and I'm interested as to how this will be implemented, will they go for one 9 a side game per team or 2 games. The former means teams ditching around 6 players and the latter means finding another 4 which as you can see from all the adverts on here could prove difficult.

Aston Swallownest FC under 15s are looking for players for season 2011/12 to compliment the current squad.Training is at Aston lodge primary school,Lodge lane S26 2BL on Thursdays @ 6pm.

The club is charter standard where all coaches hold upto date minimum level 1 coaching badges,first aid,child protection certificates & are fully crb checked.

Charnock & Ridgeway are looking for players for their under 12's football team. Charnock have just been classed as a Charter Standard club, so all coaches are fully qualified F.A. coaches and is a safe, fun environment for your children.

Does anyone know of a team needing players - my son is 14 in July - Y10 in September. We are the South West of the city so would prefer this side of town if possible.

Activity Sheffield's North East Football Development Officer has been working to develop community focused football clubs across the area.

The football clubs offer local access to football provision for local people regardless of ability or background.

If you wish to play locally the football clubs require the following players;

Southey Wolves FC (Based in Southey/Parson Cross):

Under 10's, Under 11's and Under 12's

Due to being kept waiting for weeks by his current club for a decision about next season, Under 15 keeper now needs to find a new club. Has played A/B division for last 3 seasons including 2 promotions. Based Sheffield but travel isn't a problem. If anyone knows a club looking for a keeper can you PM me or add details as he just wants to play next season.

We require players for Norton Lees JFC under 16's for the coming season 2011/12. Preferably defenders but will consider all positions.We are a charter standard club with qualified coaches and all are CRB checked. We will be continuing on after this season and running an under 18's team.

under 10s also need players training will be sunday 17th july in ecclesfield park at 10.45 and then every wednesday at 5.45 and sundays 10.45 subs for this age group are £120 per season one of the cheapest in junior football
all managers/coachs are crb checked and all have level 1 if not level 2 in coaching
just turn up and give it a try and see if you like it there will be no pressure to sign come and give it a try just ask for steve or luke

Can anyone help. My stepson is wanting to start playing for a team. He needs an under 14's team as he is 13 this month.
He's right footed but can use his left. He prefers to be in an attacking position like up front of on the wings.
Looking for a team in the Rotherham area or north Sheffield ( Chapeltown, wincobank and surrounding.

Woodman under 10s are still looking for boys/girls wanting to play football. Woodman are training at the moment at stradbroke school on Thursdays 6pm-7.30pm , Sundays 11am-12.30pm. Barlborough juniors U10's have entered two teams this year to compete in the Rowsley league. We are still short of 5 players. If you are a current Y4 at school and are looking to play football on a Thursday evening and play competetive football on a sunday then please give either Steve or Dean a call on 07791920139 or 07970668321. We train currently on a Thursday evening from 1800-1915 at Ward lane Barlborough. Our fees for the 2011/2012 season are just £30 then £2 for training and matches.

Dronfield Town u13s are looking for a defender to further strenghten the squad.

The team are now playing in the B division following on from winning the C division league last season.

We train on tuesdays and thursdays at the magnificent facalties at Gosforth sports fields.

All our coaches are level 2 qualified and the manager is a regional and area coach of the year.

Must be in school year 8 as of sep 2011 and must not be registered with any other junior league club
