I have a PS3...inherited...don't ask....and I thought it would play blu-ray crap but it wont unless I perform a system update.

I connected via an ethernet cable and pressed system update in the menu but it wont and wont let me obtain an ip address. It also won't cook my tea for me.

Go into the System settings menu and make sure it hasn't got a fixed IP, try changing it to use DHCP. It's really not difficult ;)

But it is...don't give me random letters and numbers..the Tax Office do that and I haven't paid attention to them for years!!! ;)

Actually...it just said it couldn't find the ip address....

I gave up..took them back t't ye olde blocke buster....and they gave me the equivalent in a Slick-friendly format..but cheers to you all lovies!
