Does anyone know where I can get some seed potatoes (Second croppers) that I can plant now. I have looked on lots of websites but they all seem pretty expensive to me and the postage really bumps the cost up. If I could fetch some from around Sheffield I thought this might keep the cost down. Do I just need to go to one of the garden centres?
Thanks
Dave

Wilko's crystal peaks might have some, but TBH its a bit out of season now, they may have Christmas seed spuds in.

I usually just use wilko's. They usually hit the shops around feb IIRC, never had an issue with any of wilko's seeds. They also have about 10-15 different varietys of seed pots available. They will also start stocking onion sets soon iirc.

I like Middleton's pet shop - they have quite a large selection generally and you don't have to buy a minimum so you could try a few different varieties.

Any garden centre.

Or cheaper - just leave you favourite potato from the supermarket in an open cardboard eggbox until it starts to sprout I did that last year and got loads of home 'tatoes from a grow bag placed on its shortest side. Easy!

Poundland had plenty last week, also Homebargains currently have some in at Hillsboro' branch for 99p per packet(about 6/7 seed pototoes per pack)
Failing that, Wilkinsons have the larger packs for about £2.99 with about 15/20 seed potatoes in each pack.
