Maxine Carr's words I'll never set foot in Soham again, never.
Yes iknow its old news but it brings me to a point of a small gripe.

I think after this trial she will be released, if she's handed a two year sentence then she has served her time.

Him, well hope he's not planning a Christmas holiday.

Anyway my gripe is that Miss Carr will be given a total new identity, a place in the sun , 24 hour police protection and a good job to start her off and i have a feeling that her crime will pay.:loopy:

Where on earth has that come from? As far as I know they only do that for super grasses and people who were children when they committed a crime.

Well, I think perhaps what Cycleracer is getting at is how can they go about just releasing her back in the public. Would it be fair to say that there is a high risk of some repercussions? How would giving her a new ID solve the problem? Her face is pretty well known by now throughout the nation.

They were all given new identities.

Her face is not known all over the world and her appearance will be altered for a while somewhere abroad were all will be forgotten exept in this country.
How on earth can she be freed to live in the UK.
Someone will lynch her for her part in the crime, however minor.

Yes, but they were all children when they committed their crimes.

She is in danger of being hurt or killed and the children that killed as children came out as adults therefor stood a better chance of not being recognised.

I don't think it's normal to give people a new identity just because they've been involved in a controversial crime, unless they were children.

If Huntley is convicted, at some stage he will be released - he won't get a new identity, he'll have served his time and will have to fend for himself. Same with Carr.

If the state thinks they'll be killed as soon as they're released, then they probably won't make it out of jail. Personally, I don't think Carr's part in the crime is that great, but we'll all have to wait and see what the court case throws up.
