can anyone enlighten me about insurance, the company i work for has an insurance policy regarding long term sickness,in which if any employee is sick for longer than 26 weeks and deemed unfit for work an insurance company will pay 75% of our wages until we reach 65, the premiums are paid by my employers, and there are around 6 people claiming on it, which i dont keep in touch with and dont want to ask my boss about it, fantastic policy but dont know enough about it, has anyone ever come across this b4 im wanting to know how it could work out

It sounds like a permanent health insurance policy (PHI) and if its provided by the company then its good of the company to do that. Its probably also a taxable benefit.

You can take out a personal PHI policy which will obviously go with you if you change jobs, the premiums depend on the usual insurance type things like age, when you want the payments to start etc etc.
