We have a large area at the top of our garden which is overgrown, and we quite fancy putting a massive summerhouse up there?

Do we need to have planning permission and how would we go about getting it?

according to "weed it & reap" on sky you don't need permission because it is not a permanant building.same as for stables actually.

Thats what I originally thought but reading the Council's website makes me think it might not be as black and white as that now. Note the mention of '...building or structure...'

Massive.... that could be a problem for the neighbours.

Not really any neighbours that overlook that section, so that isn't a a problem.
