Somehow the HP C4280 has gone missing from Printers on the control panel. Have reinstalled it so many times on my Dell laptop. Says device has been detected, waiting for device set-up to finish. Then sticks at stage 6 of 8.

About 6 times today it says it has been installed successfully - am using CD that came with printer - but then again the printer is not showing on the control panel, nor will it print off anything.

Printer is set up as normal, is plugged in! Cables are fine. Switches on ok. Have had printer for about a year with no problem, laptop seems ok too.

So, what now please? Many thanks if you can help.

Sorted though took half the night downloading downloads!!
