Does anyone have a home remedy to kill ants? Something i can make up quickly when they appear, instead of rushing to buy ant powder that gets washed away by the rain anyway then they come back again!!

think I read somewhere that salt can be used against ants, but not sure.

last year i used baking powder/ icing suger mixed in equal parts, this seems to work well- did for me anyway, apparently it kills them by making their stomachs swell ( cruel i know ), not sure about pets though? I just make sure my cat can`t get at it.

I tried salt , it doesnt work ...ive been out and bought ant powder . theyve all grown wings!!! since i saw them this morning.theyre big!! with wings!!! anyway the powder is working.i feel really cruel though......:(

My parents used to get swarms of flying ants at this time of year. They used to vacuum them up and chuck them away in a plastic bag.

I hate them, my allotment and home garden seem to be infested with them, battling away with them though, I find good old ant powder on the nests work the best, and the bait traps (nippon is the brand)
