View Full Version : Worst Album Titles robbie 17-07-2005, 20:55 So when Charlotte Church's album was being named had it been a particularly long day in the record company office? A few drinks over lunch? Tissues and Issues? oh really :heyhey: GHS1961 17-07-2005, 21:04 There are much worse titles than this....... My own personal favourite has to be the mighty Reo Speedwagon's early 1980's opus; "You can tune a piano but you can't tuna fish" LordSnooty 17-07-2005, 21:57 How about Stevie Wonder's, 'The Secret Life of Plants'? A terrible title for an almost supernaturally bad album. We have Viz magazine to thank for alerting us to Gilbert O'Sullivan's, 'Singer Sewing Machine', the title of which, believe or not, is intended as a pun on 'singer songwriter'. Almost worthy of the BBC, eh? dirtybobby 17-07-2005, 23:20 "embryonic necropsy and devourment" by carcass springs to mind lol Deavon 17-07-2005, 23:23 Do you remember briefly in the 90's there was a compilation album called: The Best Album in the World Ever! then a few months later came: The Best Album in the World Ever... 2 So then it's the second best album in the world ever? Or was the best album in the world ever, in retrospect the 2nd best album in the world ever and been knocked off the top spot by the best album in the world ever...2? Then came: The Best Album in the world Ever... 3 ... Now does that mean ... Oh never mind! Ousetunes 18-07-2005, 10:15 What about Ogden's Nut Gone Flake? I think it was by the Small Faces? Then there's the late-oh-so-great Ian Dury and the Blockheads' New Boots and Panties. Eh? But most tedious and misdirected are the albums which are entitled Greatest Hits when the album contains that person's or group's only recognisable top ten hit padded out with around 11 other songs, one of which - the follow-up to the 'smash hit' made number 43, whilst all the rest you've never heard before nor for that matter, want to hear again. Lena Martell - Greatest Hits. It'll be out there somewhere. timo 21-07-2005, 07:23 'Bummed' by Happy Mondays always struck me as infantile, and stupid. 'Thank Christ for the Bomb' by the Groundhogs too is plain daft. Agent Gypo 21-07-2005, 17:21 How about 'The #ucking #unts Treat us Like #ricks... That may have been a single too. littleboo 21-07-2005, 17:44 "The trees are dead and dried out wait for some thing new"- by Sikth whats all that about then??? KookyKoo 21-07-2005, 19:25 I think Nelly Furtado's "Woah, Nelly!" is a pretty bad name... timo 21-07-2005, 22:19 Indeed it is. So is 'Tales from Topographic Oceans' by Prog Rock band, Yes. The lyrics, by Jon Anderson, are even worse. I read recently that Rick Wakeman and other members 'hadn't the foggiest' about what Anderson was singing. What a pretentious load of pseudo-classical hogwash that project was! 40summat 22-07-2005, 00:23 In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, by Iron Butterfly it's suposed to mean in a garden of eden, also ....'O' by Damien Rice, No idea what that's about but a good album all the same. And Limp Bizkit's....'Choccolate starfish and the hot dog flavored water', What were they on? But for sheer inventivness 'GREATEST HITS' by...everyone. carcrash 22-07-2005, 17:42 Time Considered as a Helix of Semi-Precious Stones by Sheffields very own Comsat Angels. But the best must be:- When The Pawn Hits The Conflicts He Thinks Like A King What He Knows Throws The Blows When He Goes To The Fight And He'll Win The Whole Thing 'Fore He Enters The Ring There's No Body To Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand And Remember That Depth Is The Greatest Of Heights And If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where To Land And If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You'll Know That You're Right", Fiona Apple Yes it is real 40summat 22-07-2005, 18:59 Originally posted by carcrash But the best must be:- When The Pawn Hits The Conflicts He Thinks Like A King What He Knows Throws The Blows When He Goes To The Fight And He'll Win The Whole Thing 'Fore He Enters The Ring There's No Body To Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand And Remember That Depth Is The Greatest Of Heights And If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where To Land And If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You'll Know That You're Right", Fiona Apple Yes it is real [/B] Corker there carcrash, is it any good? carcrash 22-07-2005, 19:04 Think Alanis moresette and Tori Amos and you are in the right area. not my cup of ea 40summat 22-07-2005, 19:18 Yes i get you, would'nt mind going into Virgin and asking if they've got it just to see the reaction.
