View Full Version : Honest Dealing
I have just been let down by someone I trusted as a gentleman, he promised to send me the money he owed me and has now gone back on his word. Is it any wonder there is hatred and resentment in this world when people let you down in such a way.
It is no use saying take him to court as that would just be throwing money away, after the court costs, solicictors fees etc, but I feel so let down, angry and foolish at having trusted someone, not to mention depressed.
Classic Rock 02-12-2003, 14:13 Sorry to hear about this, it's happened to us all, believe me....! If he or she has any conscience this demon will stay with them. Tell all their friends what a rat they are if they still will not cough up. Make them feel really really small. People will learn not to trust them. Reputations are valuable things.
Is there a reason he's gone back on his word? Maybe he's having his own difficulties.

No he is comfortably off with no money problems!
I think it's disgusting behaviour Hal. The fact that this person couldn't even face you and give you any sort of reason is disgraceful. This person is clearly not worth your time if they show no loyalty whatsoever to an old friend and go back on their word.
Funky Dave 02-12-2003, 19:17 Has he just forgotten that he owes you? Could you not get together with him and tell him why you really need the money back? If he's well off repaying you surely can't be an issue?
Alternatively, if all else fails, beat the c**p out of him, or take some form of revenge. Don't take this lying down, that's the worst thing you can do. And remember for next time, never ever lend anyone, no matter who they are, more money than you can afford to lose. Being generous is a good thing, but if you're too generous then you are going to suffer for it eventually.

I'm not sure where that would get him, apart from a spell in gaol.
Funky Dave 02-12-2003, 19:48 Alright, fair point, that was me being silly. But even so, he can't just let this go. Can you give us more specific info, like how much you've lost, and why your "mate" won't pay you back? It'd be easier to make suggestions if we have more info.
Don't fib... you're just nosy :P

Funky Dave 02-12-2003, 20:29 Well partly, yes, but I have known people lend stupid amounts of money to so called friends, who then have been unable to repay. I'd never risk a friend's money on anything, that would be an awful thing to do. Similarly I wouldn't lend anyone an outrageous amount either, unless it was life or death stuff
