Late 80s is old! She'll probably tell you that 40 cigarettes a day is the secret to a long and healthy life :hihi:

My grandmother who was 95 when she stuck a garden fork in her foot. By the time she complained about the pain she had galloping gangrene.

She would have been 125 this year ! :)

On visiting a residential home recently I met one of the residents who is 102. Thing is she didn't look any older than the 80-year-olds that were there!

My Dad, now 85, and Mum, now 83. Until 2 years ago, they annually went for a 3 month holiday in South Africa. Sadly, Mum has lost the sight in one eye, and so they've stopped going on holiday now. Dad was a coal miner and then a railway ganger, and is always digging in his garden. He is one of the healthiest people I know.

My grandma's sister is 94. And a right biddy she is too - always going on about us dying and straightening our hair - to the point of us purposely dying and frazzling it before we go and see her!!
