Not a bad player when I saw him a couple of times last season but a big step up for him.

What makes you say that? Have you seen him play?

It's rumoured that he only cost £100k, and he is an ex England under 20 international. Looks like good cover for Naysmith.

or a cup price replacement for the Kyles

Both Kyles are right backs (although Naughton has played on the left). Naysmith and Taylor are left backs. Still doesn't look like a bad deal to me.

sounds like he couldnt hold down a first team place in a league two side .

and the Blades accuse us of signing cheap lower league players:roll:

Looking at the stats on wikipedia he played fairly regularly last season.

He played the full season for a league one side last season, also tranmere had a good defensive record last season.
Do try to get your facts correct before posting.

I'm sure wednesday fans had the same comments when we signed Brian Deane and Tony Currie.
We can't all make massive signings in this city.

Actually watched him a few times last season.
He didn't stand out from the rest of the team but tranmere did well last year.
Don't know why the manager has gone.

Yeah, you big bullying set piece teams coming and disrupting our Brazilian-style pass-and-move game... :hihi:

can't say i've ever heard of him, it does make sense though, as Naysmith will still be out with injury for the first few months of the season, so gives the lad a few months to settle in and make a claim for the regular starting place. Nice to see a defender coming in rather than the rumours of those leaving!

Went down to the lane with two blades mates just after they had signed TC, he put a 40 odd yards pin point perfect pass just infront of Woodward, he was pure class.

Deane was a very good striker, IMHO Hirst had the edge on him class and strength wise, but Deane looked after his body, DH wasn't very good at that sort of thing.

Just my opinion as a Wednesdayite.

Tony Currie and David hirst both have the same regrets.
They were both wanted by Man Utd and were not allowed to go.

What's the problem here?

Aston Villa are supposedly signing Stuart Downing from Middlesbrough for £12million - £11million more than he's worth if you ask me.

Now there's a case for having a go at a manager for wasting money.
