I used to go out with this girl back in the early 90s. She explained how she believed people that write songs must have experienced a lot of what they were writing about to come up with the lyrics, and that it would be unlikely that they just came up with them out of the blue.

I thought about what she had said and concluded that she probably had a point. However, all these years later I still can`t get my head around the song written for Queen (by Brian May) called “Tie your mother down”
