View Full Version : McIndoe move falls through because we're skint!

That's what's being reported, apparently. It's really bad form to agree a fee and terms with a player and then back out of the deal because you haven't got the money!

MR BENN

where have you seen that reported ?

thats what i was thinking, it seems a bit of a daft thing to say as an excuse though, as if its true it shows your hand. and it better not be true or there will be quite a few unhappy blades about.

Lets not forget that it was Johnson who blurted the deal out to the press in the first place and now when things haven't gone his way, he's stamping his little feet and name calling because McIndoe is one of his big earners who he desperately doesn't want at the club and we've (thankfully) had second thoughts about him..

My take on this is that either United have been impressed with Reid or Gray or both, and feel that we don't need MM, or that they're trying to broker a deal with Leeds involving Ian Snodgrass and possibly Billy Blunt.

There's a couple of ways you can look at it though.....

If United say that they have no money, then people won't be expecting millions because of the sale of Naughton/Walker.

But on the other hand.... it might make clubs think twice about offering a high amount for Naughtoin/Walker

It's a funny story anyway.
It appears that the Blunts aren't the role model club we should all be copying.

Just read through this and using non-confrontational terms I think the holder of your purse strings is finally starting to behave appropriately.

As I've been saying for weeks and getting slated for saying it, you cannot carry on with your policy of a high wage bill and low ticket prices.

Well done to the one holding the purse strings, perhaps he's been watching my posts and taking note.

MR BENN
14-07-2009, 19:28
in the current climate ,it was odds on the purse strings at the lane would be tightened a lot ,we all have to do it -its a fact of life ,and football clubs are not immune to it .

Doesn't the club owe McCabe a considerable amount of money? Its around 15 mil isn't it? Im wondering if McCabe is taking his money, and doing a runner..

It does seem a little strange this one.
Maybe he does not want Mcindoe because he needs extra funds for another player he has spotted, something i think that has already been touched upon.
I hope this is the case.

Strange one this United would not tell another club they were skint especially as they look like signing the lad from Tranmere today, looks like Blackie has better options ! Only time will tell, if it is true its a bit kid in a sweet shop ill have that one no i want that one, not the best image for us Kenny suspension looming and both Everton and Bristol City hate us lol oh well life go's on football has never been a popularity contest ! On a personal note im happy dont think McIndoe would have improved us, i agree with an earlier post he either likes the trialists we have or Snodgrass is on his way !

UP THE BLADES !!

as i said weeks ago macabe is balancing the books, any one can see that if you sell your best players and bring in players from clubs like watford and bristol its clear all ambitions have gone to being a long term premier league team.weds.signings are far better ones than utd.(not sure about purse}and it does not say much for any of the reserves and junior players.hope i am proved wrong but as i also said in that post i think they will struggle this year.

a point ive just made on another thread . add the Beattie 3.5m to the 10 or 11m from the sale of the kyles ,and thats a tidy sum ,even without the wembley cash on top

if i remember correctly, gate reciepts cash from the playoffs are divided between all 4 teams who compete in the playoffs, so united wont have that much cash from wembley anyway

Both Reid & Gray impressed tonight, I know the opposition had a bearing on this, I'd leave MM at Bristol City.

Not sure lol, I assume it was still that score at full time! Good game, little subdued, but not bad for a friendly (tell that to their dirty left-back) :|

His business is property development, he must have lost a fortune over the last two years, is the real reason and truth behind the Beattie sale coming out now at last SKINT?
It looks that way with the signings this summer.

Actually all of the playoff final money goes to the blades as we lost in the final.

Im not sure what to think about this to be honest- on one had i think they have changed there mind about the deal after seeing some of the other players we have brought it- but on the other i can think of better excuses to give than . . were skint!!!

Is that true? Seems a bit unfair on the 2 other clubs that didn't go up.

al_partridge
15-07-2009, 08:20
It's an unofficial agreement between the finalists. United won't have got all the playoff money, just Burnley's share of the gate receipts from the final. That's if they agreed to do it.

Seems that all's not rosy in the financial garden at the lane. Hmmm, I seem to remember being shot down in flames by the usual suspects when I suggested this a while back.

Actually if you bothered to read the Blades comments you would see they're all quite happy that the deal has fallen through, it's just the usual snortbeast trolls from DIY land trying to stir things up with their ill informed drivel.

It depends what payment schedule BC wanted, they might have wanted everything upfront?

I must admit, I'm not really bothered either way about McIndoe... If we had got him for over a million I think we would have been paying too much. I think the fact that we have brought in similar players on free transfers and trials in probably more to do with the fact that United backed out.
