Yesterday I finally got round to visiting the CATS sanctuary and it was so well worth the visit. I'm sure many of you have been loads of times, but if anyone hasn't I really recommend you go and take a look at the wonderful work Jackie is doing there.

Her entire garden and half of her lovely next door neighbour's has been turned into a long row of luxury chalets for the cats she has permanently, plus all the others she looks after until they can find new homes. A lot of thought and care, and I imagine her own money, has gone into providing this great place for the cats and kittens to feel safe.

I had the pleasure of meeting Star, a 6 and half week old kitten born with badly deformed legs who Jackie has hand reared herself. He is such a lovely playful kitten who really deserves the start in life Jackie has given him. I also met the cerebral palsy triplets - wow, who would have thought they could grow up to be such happy cats despite their disability.

So many cats to mention, I could go on all day, but instead I just want to say well done Jackie and all those who support her. Wish there were more people in the world like you.
xx

What a lovely posting, eloquently put! When I try to describe Jackie's place I am just lost for words. Inspirational springs to mind!

Your words are so kind! It is an incredible place, isn't it?

Just a note to everyone; if you'd like to visit, please ensure you ring Jackie on (0114) 245 7181 first to check it's convenient as she works constantly caring for those kitties, and some require more attention than others, so she's always busy.

She's always pleased to show people around the Sanctuary, and so proud of the selfless work she does for kitties in need. Just knowing there are people out there who care means so much to her.

Star lives up to his name on a daily basis, and it's incredible seeing him so mobile, when only three weeks ago, he could barely move due to his deformities. This is all due to the tireless love and attention Jackie's given him.

Star will be at the Street Party in Millhouses on Sunday 2nd August, so you'll be able to meet him and Jackie there!
