View Full Version : Abdul's Kebabish - opinions? sheff_playa 11-07-2009, 18:14 What do you think of the takeaway in Wicker called Abduls Kebabish opposite Imrans Diner? I think it could be improved a bit dont you? :hihi: saxon51 11-07-2009, 18:35 I've been there and I got exactly what I expected. Nothing flash, nothing flambouyant, nothing special just as the prices reflected. If I'd wanted somewhere else more upmarket I'd have gone somewhere more expensive. What's Imrans Diner like? Any idea? sheff_playa 11-07-2009, 18:45 what if they refurbished it, put in a few tv screens, wud it attract customers? Farmboy 11-07-2009, 18:57 I prefer the Kebabish on the Wicker Pharmacy side. Had a lamb tikka roll from there last night. YUM!! :P Been to Abdul's before. As said before, nothing special but it fills a hole when ya hungry. :) spooferman 11-07-2009, 18:59 Kebabish food is bit bland, Imrans is much better Kebabish shop eating area is clean, Imrans is a dump saxon51 11-07-2009, 19:00 what if they refurbished it, put in a few tv screens, wud it attract customers? Only the ones who wanted TV on whilst they are eating. Me personally? Would only be interested in TV if what was on was of interest to me. Odds are it wouldn't be so would avoid it. Refurbish? No need really. It serves a purpose: in, quickly served, eat, wind down and leave. Always seems busy with a mixture of difference ethnic groups, so why fix what ain't broke? When I went I enjoyed the simplicity of it all and the informality. Just like a transport cafe, but cleaner.:) hparkes 11-07-2009, 19:27 I used to love this place as I work nearby. My favourite was masala fish on nan with salad - until one day the nan was stale and the salad was far from fresh. I haven't been since. saxon51 11-07-2009, 19:33 I used to love this place as I work nearby. But ain't the Masala fish lovely, eh?:) Farmboy 11-07-2009, 19:41 Masala fish does sound very nice. ;) hparkes 11-07-2009, 20:11 But ain't the Masala fish lovely, eh?:) Oh yeah, the fish is absolutely gorgeous. Nice and spicy. It was just the nan and salad that I didnt enjoy that particular time. No excuse for stale bread and brown, soggy salad in my opinion so I havent been back since and I used to visit weekly. heeleyrachel 12-07-2009, 12:40 mmmm Masala fish!!! lovely......Caught fromt river behind wicker lol. mrsb73 12-07-2009, 12:48 original kebabish is much nicer on the other side of the road, I don't think people really care about TV's, they care about the food! sheff_playa 12-07-2009, 13:24 lol thanks for you opinions and i agree tvs is a bit dumb :D but lets just say if someone was to buy the business what could they do to improve it and bring more customers in? :D toreador 12-07-2009, 13:33 lol thanks for you opinions and i agree tvs is a bit dumb :D but lets just say if someone was to buy the business what could they do to improve it and bring more customers in? :D Are you thinking of buying it? make sure they dont serve stale nan bread and give unfresh salad LOL Joe9T 12-07-2009, 13:48 imrans is the best one on the wicker you only have to look anynight at the Q's at anytime of the night.. but i think everyone has their favorite that they go to sheff_playa 12-07-2009, 13:57 lol we'll make sure we dont SpeedwayDan 13-07-2009, 19:34 lol thanks for you opinions and i agree tvs is a bit dumb :D but lets just say if someone was to buy the business what could they do to improve it and bring more customers in? :D People just want good food, a clean environment and friendly staff. richyyy 16-08-2010, 00:01 What do you think of the takeaway in Wicker called Abduls Kebabish opposite Imrans Diner?
