Hi - best of luck with your drive. I am a playwright from Cheshire who has had a few plays staged in Sheffield, including Grenoside, TOADS (Abbeydale) and the Corner Playhouse, Eckington. I'm a member of an ADS over here so I know how difficult it is to get new members.

I wonder, if you're looking for plays for the season, whether I could ask you to take a look at my website (this site won't let me post a url but it's ianhornby dot co dot uk) where you will find over 30 published plays of most types, including the very popular "Hello, Is There Any Body There?" I offer free evaluation copies (pdf format) so you can check them out before risking any cash. Best of luck with your efforts.

The 53 Theatre group will be presenting their latest play, ‘I Am A Camera’ at the Library Theatre in April and we would be delighted if you could join us.

The play is based on the writings of Christopher Isherwood and was the inspiration for the now legendary musical, ‘Cabaret’.

Set in the volatile environment of 1930’s Berlin it tells the story of an unlikely friendship between Chris, a young English writer and Sally, a headstrong, vivacious young woman who submerges herself in the hedonistic pleasures of the cabaret scene to escape from the reality of Germany in chaos.

All the characters are in some way trying to escape the reality of their existence but try as they might, the paranoia and prejudice threatening to tear the country apart eventually begins to take its toll and friendships are tested.

This is a well written and intelligent play that is both darkly comic and very touching.

Tickets £7.00 available by calling 0114 2862740 check out the website for further info
