I used to work at the KGB or Kay Gee Bee to give it it's full name.
I remember the northern soul nights really well and the utter committed passion that the majority of the people had for dancing the hours away. I particularily enjoyed the all-nighters and remember the huge amounts of coffee we'd sell. Seemed to have a lot of pretty girls attending the northern soul nights and as the idea was dancing rather than drinking ale there was little or no trouble.
A bit of northern soul can still be guaranteed to get my foot tapping although I'd never of dared to try to move at the speed that a lot of the guys did with all the weird and wonderful moves that now look like break dancing.
