hello everyone, we are a loving family of four and have decided the time is right for us to add a new addition to our family, we have 2 young children (who have been brought up to respect animals) and my partner is a stay at home mum who will be at home constant with our new addition. We have enquired about puppy classes in our local area for socialisation and to help guide us on our way. We were oing to buy a puppy from a breeder a labrador but growing up we rescued dogs when i lived at home and would love to give a rescue dog a chance. We have contacted afew kennels but have had no joy as we are wanting either a puppy or young dog because of our children and all rescue centers we have contacted have only older dogs or are unsure of background with children. any help or info would be greatly appreciated not fussed of breed sex or size when fully grown as we have room and will get plenty of exercise was originally going for a lab due to nature. will be coming to a forever loving home and this is not a decision we have taken lightly :)
many thanks matt

Hi Matt, Try Labrador Welfare. http://www.labradorwelfare.org/LabradorWelfare/contactus.html

It seems alot of the dogs they are rehoming are there as a result of a marital break up or because a family member has developed an allergy.

I have a six year old boy and a 3 year old labrador and I don't think you could wish for a better family pet than a labrador.

we recently wanted a puppy (the eldest loves dogs)
tbh we've always been cat / rat lovers

anyway we went to open days to look at rescue dogs but could never agree on one, then a friends dog had puppies so we have one of hers

its a learning experience ill give you that lol

Hi, my names Linzi. I know it's probably a long shot, but i wondered if you had managed to find the Labrador you wanted?. I would just like to let you know that i am looking for a home for a beautiful 2 and a half year old yellow Labrador, who i have known since he was eight weeks old. The dog belongs to my friend, but i have been looking after him trying to find him a new home. He is a fantastic dog, fantastic with other animals and children, myself having four children, one of whom is 5 years old.
I have been looking after him for the last 3/4 months due to my friends work and lack of time.
If you would like to know more send me a message unless you have already been successful in finding your new puppy/dog.
Thankyou
Linzi

Karlin - if you want to send us a pic and a write up of your boy we could put him on rehomed by owner? and a link from the lab page.

I'm sure he will be pretty easy to find a home for if he has no issues as he seems.
