View Full Version : Staffy attcked again!!
eeejay174 08-07-2009, 18:33 Good grief, my dog is having it this week!!
Today, my 14yr old neighbour takes ruby for a walk, he does this regularly, always on the lead. In meersbrook park today, he is walking ruby just past the playground, labrador type thing appears ownerless - of course - bounds flying towards ruby, who does what she does, protects this lad, and barks at this dog, next thing, this mad woman apparently appears from up the hill, by the woods, runs down the hill and promptly tries to stab ruby with her umberella, this lad, bless him, promptly throws himself over ruby, and starts having a go at her, saying its her fault because quite clearly said dog, is not on a lead, ruby quite clearly is, and her dog was running without being under her control, of it was under control, it would naturally have not approached ruby in such a manner, if at all, to which she then attacked him!!! :loopy:
he called my husband in a right state, whi drove up to get him and dog
wonderful life eh!!
Nutbrown 08-07-2009, 18:47 Do you know what, I bet this has more to do with her having no respect for your neighbour as much as anything else.
I know people say 'young'uns these days, no respect' but then there are plenty of older people who 'because they are older' are clearly in the right!
Hope your dog and your neighbour are ok. Good on him for standing up for himself!

I generally try to avoid Meersbrook park during the busy times as it is full of dogs though most of the owners are great, I think most people see me and think god its that poor women with the dreadful dog so avoid me  If I go it's at silly time in the morning and you always see the same dogs and they are all very well behaved with fab owners unlike my mutt. :)
I have a dog that does not like other dogs and is kept on a lead and muzzled. We have got to the point that he generally will not go for another dog or kick off if they walk past and ignore him but he (and I ) can't cope with the amount of dogs that run up to us if we go later on. He also seems to be much worse in the park than anywhere else but I can only put that down to him being attacked in there, unfortunatley both times by staffys types, though D most likely triggered it by getting worked up when they run at him.
We don't walk in Meersbrook park as there has been odd bits of trouble , some of our customers have asked us to walk their pets in Graves rather than Meersbrook. We actually prefer Graves park , nicer people and animals there , although there are good pet owners who walk in Meersbrook.
theres some right idiots about, think I`d have shoved her brolly right up her jacksy!
goldenbabe1966 10-07-2009, 07:57 I have been to meersbrook park once (with my STORM)and that's enough for me, don't think they know what leads are ,and as for keeping an eye on their dogs, no chance (way to busy strolling along in their own little "green" world ) My Storm is rather protective too, doesn't like other dogs coming to near , but because he's a well built Staffy,( on a lead i may add),i am the one who gets the dirty look or a odd comment .
I hope your neighbour and your doggy are ok , and i hope the poor lad isn't put off from walking your doggy .
