Why do we seem to be obsessed with giving shows to annoying camp TV presenters in this country ?
Alan Carr being the latest after the likes of Graham Norton, Julian Clary etc...I personally don't find them that funny, so why do others, is it just because of their camp voices ?
I sometimes wonder what people think of us here in Britain when we have this bizarre taste for having these people on our TV screens..I find them annoying, mainly because of their camp voices !

the majority of the world has tv presenters who are extremely camp so that's the problem solved

however I think Alan Carr/Graham Norton are funny it's more the way the deliver the jokes and their quick wit that i like

no one forces you to watch them

It's obviously what 'people' like, but I watched Alan Carr on Sunday and he really was very witty and quick. His banter with Dawn French was very very funny!

I think Graham Norton is a bit overrated these days.

Your quite right, nobody does, but my wife watches, so I happen to be in the room when it's on !
I do think that these camp characters appeal more to the feminine people in our society, pretty much like most mainstream TV generally

Graham Norton was given millions in the poaching from C4 to the BBC but the BBC has no ideas or projects for him other than his rubbish BBC2 chat show.

I think he realised he had to tone down his act for mainstream primetime.

I wouldn't exactly say a couple of camp presenters out of hundreds represents an 'obsession'.
Besides, rather them than the likes of Richard Madeley or Jeremy Clarkson.

Got nothing against them in general, I just hate Alan Car, I wish he wasn't on telly, him or his fat farmer sounding friend.

I cannot stand that pair of pillocks but out of the two of them Justin Lee Collins is the biggest pillock of them all, he has no real talent at all other than a talent for hiding his hideous skin condition under a layer of fur.

It's tradition - a bit like cross dressing (badly) appears on british tv on a regular basis...

I think their camp voices are incidental......a bit like yours is.......your voice is not the person....

Not to mention those two pillocks who presented that daytime property show on BBC1 - can't recall the name right now - but it involved showing 3 different houses and a 'mystery' house to prospective buyers - one was called Dom the other I just wanted to punch!
