Sheffield General Cemetery Promenade Theatre
Saturday 11 July 11 am and 2pm
Sunday 12 July 11am and 2:00 pm
The return of the popular Promenade Theatre to the General Cemetery, an annual event deterred only by the heaviest weather. A distinguished personage will guide visitors around the cemetery where they will see entertaining re-enactments of the lives and deaths of some of the Sheffielders buried there.
There will be tales of fire and flood, the touching tragedy of George Pischell and Margaret Croft, a romantic elopement and the amazing story of born entertainer, Harvey Teasdale who once sailed on the Don in a boat drawn by ducks (yes he really did!).
Meet at the Sheffield General Cemetery Gatehouse, off Cemetery Avenue off Ecclesall Rd on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July at 11 am and 2pm
