There's all the Peak District for instance, if you have a car, and you can get out there cheaply using the Stanage Bus or on the Train too. Or, there's routes out to the nearer parts of the Peak (Stanage, Houndkirk etc) from the city, mostly off road, and if you're really fit (I'm not) you can get out further that way and have a really long ride. The Moss Valley just South of Sheffield has some great trails too. coynie 08-07-2009, 20:48 theres wharncliff woods theres plenty of good ridin in there if you know were to look im new to sheff and hav spent most of my free time finding new trails and hav managed to make a good loop arond with bits of xc downhill and freeriding and am wiling to show you around as i dont hav any ridin buddies aroud here Yog Sothoth 08-07-2009, 20:52 Lol. Lived here 5 years and never ridden at Wharncliffe. Always thought it was just for downhill and getting airborne! ashdamash 31-12-2009, 14:30 wharncliffe has a variety of stuff more downhill but they do have xc tracks up there, and I see plenty of people just riding on the fireroads. Yog Sothoth 02-01-2010, 20:44 Lol. I'm up for more than fireroads but super-steep ultra-fast DH is too hairy for me. My limit is stuff like Cave Dale or The Beast of Hope Cross. |
