View Full Version : What should I change my "Registered User" to
DanSumption 14-07-2005, 21:43 At every meet I've been to so far I've meant to ask somebody "how do you change the 'Registered User' title above your user icon", except that I always get too drunk and forget. I'd assumed it was something to do with having at least 1,000 posts (which I now have since a couple of days ago) because most of the people with custom titles are in that region.
Anyway, I did the sensible thing, searched, and found out that it's just a matter of asking Geoff (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3680&highlight=registered+user) (and you only need 300 posts to your name).
But I think it would be a bit presumptious (haha, almost a pun there) of me to choose my own title. So can I have your suggestions please, what should I change it to? Maximum 15 characters, including spaces.
How about...
Forum knowitall
15 characters exactly.
That will be £500 consultancy fee please, Mr Sumption
:D
DanSumption 14-07-2005, 21:49 :D spot-on and speedily delivered, Abdul.
Although doesn't somebody else already have that title, or something similar? And nobody's yet voted me forum know-it-all on the "who would you vote..." thread, although I have been expecting it for a long time now.
I thought the forum know-it-all was JoePritchard, but I'd be happy to steal that crown off him.
DanSumption 14-07-2005, 21:52 Hmm... just thinking, it's a shame "Kristian's right-hand man" doesn't fit. :hihi:

Don_Kiddick 14-07-2005, 22:08 Capt Daft Beard  :hihi:
After last night how about..
Kristians B**ch :D
Kristian 14-07-2005, 23:03 What about 'Secretly Flattered'? :D

What about 'Voice of Reason'?
I thought I'd better come back with a nice one. I was going to suggest 'Boxing Above Weight', but that would just have been unkind! ;) :D And untrue :(

You can have it! :)
I know lots but not everything. :D
BTW - when you decide what you want use the 'Contact Us' options rather than e-mailing Geoff directly as then one of the site co-admins will do the necessary honours.
Cheers
Joe
DanSumption 02-08-2005, 19:22 OK, I have returned from my banning older, not wiser, but with a new handle. Thanks to Joe for implementing it (after all the other admins had tried and failed to wrestle with the relevant technology) and for banning me for a crime I didn't commit ;)
And thanks to Abdul and Don_Kiddick for my favourite suggestions, which I have amalgamated.
Kristian 02-08-2005, 19:34 Good choice Mr S! I approve! :D

For this post (http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?postid=517025#post517025). The official reason was "Ignored my request to cease sniping at another forum user" but I think you can see from that post, the last thing I was doing was "ignoring" :hihi:

Yes. Or, in other words, I know it all :)

:D but you're not a 'knowitall' ....
A knowitall is like a jobsworth .... in fact, sometimes, they're one and the same :P

I think if you check the reason why I was banned, you will see that I am indeed a jobsworth :hihi:
Dan, what about your post-Trippets taxi driver-sugar daddy's suggestion....
Dan Sumption
Like him a Lot

Conversely, Socrates claimed to know nothing. This is in my view a wiser position to adopt. A Socratic moniker such as 'Corporal Know nothing' (or something similar) would be an apt choice for us all.

Ahem... sometimes it's the technology, not the operator, and it wasn't related to you getting banned. You managed that all by yourself ;)
