Once again you are the voice of reason. As for the idiots on the forum bickering and badmouthing, I am far too professional to be arguing with such pondlife.
As one of the forumers keeps iterating, never argue with an idiot. They will just drag you down to their level and beat you on experience. LOL
A lot of people put shows on at Grosvenor just like a lot of people used to put shows on at Darnall, and every now and then people put shows on at the Octagon.
However, the quality of the shows is all in the matchmaking. Forget the half naked ring girls and all the hype, fair matchmaking and honest judging is what AFK is all about.

Mr Ali !!!!!!!!!

Here we go craig, a blow by blow account.

PART -1

1. Girls Light contact this was a demo match between Marie Keenan (fight unit) Vs Emily Kelly ( newcastle)

Emily showed a big improvement since fighting Kapaps olivia , DRAW

2. Under 16's K-1
Anjum Shah (luton) beat Marlie (london) by TKO using punch combinations in the 3rd round despite a 6 inch height disadvantage!!!
Cracking war between 2 toucgh teenagers.

3. Kickboxing
Darren Whiteman (wales) TKO'd Alan Baptist (england) With a side kick to the face!!! :help:

4. Marco (Kapap) Vs Mark Beaumont (Fight Unit) = K-1 rules
This was an interesting fight as Marco had only had 2 fights coming into this contest.
Mark Beaumont had previously beaten Andrew Riley and was supposed to be matched against SDF's Paul Cropper twice.
Marco started strong in the 1st landing heavy bombs and out powering the barnsley fighter.
In the 2nd round Mark Beaumont came back with strong leg kicks and used the knee well in the clinch.
In the 3rd round it was a lot closer with marcos heavy bombs Vs Mark's powerful and painfully accurate left leg low kick.
The judges decision went to Marco from Kapap whose legs and ribs were purple the next day!!!

5.Lindy Warnes (wicker Camp ) Vs Carla Dwyer (Luton)= Thaiboxing

this was action packed for 5 rounds with the wicker camp fighter dominating the contest dropping her opponent with leg kicks right at the bell of the 5th round.

Winner Lindy Warnes (wicker camp) by leg kicks.

6. Steve Cook (England) Vs Gayan Yaddehi (wales)= Featherweight kickboxing

This was an unusual contest with Gayan being much taller for the weight than is expected.
Gayah Yaddehi kept his composure and outboxed the shorter Steve stopping him in the 2nd round. Steve fought back valiantly but was outreached and outboxed.

Winner = Gayan Yaddehi (Wales ) by TKO
Leaving the welsh team 2-0

7.Michael Gabbitas (Kapap) Vs Chris Robinson (Tiger King) = K-1 rules

This was another interesting contest with the MMA fighter (Mike) Vs the Thaiboxer (chris).
Chris started the contest off with the traditional Wai Kru and an excellent Ram Muay.

From the bell Michael blasted forwards (K-1 is scored on aggression) with solid punches.
Chris fought on the back foot landing leg kicks and strong body kicks but was eventually caught by a Gabbitas Right hook and was counted out!!!

Winner Michael Gabbitas (Kapap) by 1st round KO!!!

Lotar on here (Craig) was very happy afterwards and chilled out to enjoy the rest of the evening.
Michael Gabbitas was very respectful to his opponent and his coach.
I also know that a good friendship is going to blossom between Kapa and Tiger king
(This is what sportsmanship and martial arts is all about!)

8.Rachel Crosby (AFK) Vs Clare Bowler (Luton)= Kickboxing rules.

This was a classic contest of "the boxer" Vs "the fighter"

Rachel came out to thunderous applause having had a lot of support.

Rachel being shorter and more powerful steamed forward from the bell landing powerful right crosses and right hooks and effective well placed leg kicks.
Rachel caught her opponent on the ropes a few times and rocked her with massive right hands.

Clare woke up in round 2 and worked an effective strategy of landing leg kicks and working behind the jab. Rachel prefferred to take the leg kicks in order to land boxing combinations. Both scored well with the hands with Clare landing cleaner kicking.

In the last round. Clare worked out not to stand and trade but to hit and move which she did effectively using her long arms and legs well.

Winner = Clare Bowler (Luton)

It is back down to 54kg for Rachel (no more chocolate biscuits !!!)

After this fight was time for a quick break.

Part 2 of the results:

9.Danny Hinchcliffe (West Leeds Muay thai) Vs James "Agro" Blay (Team Ronin) = K-1 Rules

Both were novices with agro having his first ever fight and Danny being 0-1
This was a good war from the bell , it was a shame there had to be a loser.
Winner = Danny Hinchcliffe

10.Craig Kendall (Wales) Vs Chris Tate (England)

43 year old Chris Tate was well known to the sheffield crowd for having KO'd Dr Andrew Carr in his first fight and once again came to the ring looking very muscular while his opponent was tall and rangy and looked skinny by comparison.
Muscles are not everything as Craig Kendall rushed Chris Tate with punches in the 1st Round.
Winner = Craig Kendall 1st round KO

11.Ladies Thaiboxing match
Jillian Corbett (Wicker camp) Vs Sophia Thompson ( G Camp)
Sophia started well with punches while Jillian played more of a waiting game and came back in the later rounds with strong clinchwork and knees to pound out a decision by points.
Winner= Jillian Corbett

12.Kickboxing rules = The grand finale of the England Vs Wales Team event.
Damien Bellwood (England) Vs Craig Baker (Wales) = kickboxing rules.

This was a classic Thaiboxer Vs Karateka matchup.
Damien Bellwood from west leeds muay thai against the karateka Craig Baker.
Craig Baker dropped Damien with a right hand towards the end of the first.
The second seemed to be a trade off with Damiens leg kicks against Craigs strong punches.
Craig showed little defence against leg kicks but took them in order to land punches.
In the last round Damien was exhausted and kept slipping all over the place.
The referee Dave Jackson stopped the contest with Damien in no position to continue.

Winner = Craig Baker TKO round 3

13.Alan Willis ( AFK in association with Andy Marlow) Vs Adam Hadfield (Fight Unit)
Ranking Contest (for position in ISKA Rankings) under K-1 rules.

This fight was a real crowd pleasure with both fighters being strong kickers.
Willis coming back at the age of 40 having had a long lay off. Adam Hadfield at 23 being British Karate champion and also having had an impressive thaiboxing record of 7-1-1 with 4 KO's coming into the contest.

It was a close contest with Adam Hadfield just taking the decision that came with a lot of controversy.
Winner = Adam Hadfield (Fight Unit)
