He was alright, but fairly average in my opinion. We need a tough tackling Lee Carsley type player, if we play Potter and Miller together in the middle teams are going to cut straight through us.

I thught Potter was sound me, steady on the ball and a good passer, and set piece taker.
Like you say though he need's a battler at the side of him though.
O Conner and Macallister are just too lightweight in my opinion.

Oh I'm not saying Potter wasn't any good, he was decent at what he did. Decent at tackling and tracking back though he ain't.

I thought we'd signed the attacking midfielder we needed in Miller, so I'd rather prioritise a good defensive midfielder instead. Miller and Potter are too similar, and whilst it's good to have a bit of strength in depth in the middle I just can't see them playing together. It'd be like when we were playing Whelan and Lunt together, between them they couldn't tackle a crossword.

i can see one being sacrificed to free up wages for other areas. we now seem top heavy with central midfield players

I heard that we was going to sign him on monday, or today?
