turned my laptop on last night got a message saying loading files it then acts like its going to load up then just loads a blank screen wont even load on safe mode im running i on vista would be grateful for any advice thanks in advance

Do you have a recovery partition on your laptop?

just tried to restore back to factory setings and now its saying i need the windows instalation disc which i dont have but cant get it to boot in safe mode

did it say anything like 'formatting partition' before it asked you for the windows installation disc ?

I had this problem, you just have to bite the bullet and buy a copy of Windows. There's a legit German guy on Ebay that sells legal copies for around £40, it's the cheapest I have found.

hi just rang a pc repair shop and was told it will cost around £80 to get the disc i need as i dont have a recoverey disc

Just checked and the German Ebay seller is called clausys. He is currently selling Windows XP SP2 for £35 inc. postage. For legal reasons, he will also send a little piece of hardware, I got a silly little plug thing.

You could download Windows 7 to get you running for now.

would that work just found out my other half e made a recovery but saved it on the laptop if i could get it up and running maybe i could put recovery on a disc hope so just want say cheers to everyone thats given me advice
