Search for "London Road Gallery Sheffield" bobby22 13-07-2005, 15:12 EBAY!! It's the future, i've been on it! owdlad 13-07-2005, 16:17 The heading is buy, yet you post that you want to sell some sculptures  which is it :( Strix 13-07-2005, 16:55 There's a small shop on White lane in Gleadless, just next door to the old harrow pub. Pop in and have a chat with the nice lady there - she sells African style stuff  It's called Sphynx or Pheonix or something desy 13-07-2005, 17:33 Cat protection sometimes sell things like that at Crystal Peaks Zebra 13-07-2005, 17:50 Originally posted by Strix There's a small shop on White lane in Gleadless, just next door to the old harrow pub. And there's some place in the Lanes, Meadowhall sells them, plus Airy Fairy on London Road sell various nd the furniture shop opposite. Maybe you could undercut the current supplier? It's a dog eat dog world out there. cgksheff 13-07-2005, 18:01 If you are thinking of supplying an existing shop, you must understand that they will usually be looking for a 100% mark-up and with these types of goods may try and get them on credit until sold. You also need phyto-sanitary certificates to import wood products into Europe and be sure that they are not from protected species such as ebony etc. If they are of high quality and well finished, I have a retailer who may be interested. What country, towns are they from? Can you get any photographs? PM me if you have photos or samples and an idea of possible volumes and price expectations. Strix 14-07-2005, 07:35  Is there anything you don't know CGK? :suspect: ;) GHS1961 14-07-2005, 07:43 There is a very interesting gallery in Bakewell that specialises in African art, particularly sculpture from southern Africa. Sorry cannot remember the name of the shop but it is on Water Lane, next door to Bloomers and opposite GT News. Tony 14-07-2005, 08:01 There was a shop on Ecclesall Road specialising in this stuff called Out of Africa (?). They closed down a couple of years ago, but I believe that they went mail order / internet based. Google doesn't seem very helpful though :( Tracie 14-07-2005, 08:03 The lanes in Meadowhall normally sells this sort of thing (assuming your title is correct and you want to buy, rather than sell these sculptures). hachandhach 14-07-2005, 08:47 thanks people thats really helped me loads ur all stars well i did mean to put sell in the advert ooopppsss my mistake hey it got ya all looking though ill get some photos off me dad he is in the congo and its the people ther that make these items he buys them ill find out more info and let ya know cheers again nick2 14-07-2005, 08:48 There is a place in Orchard Square that sells that kind of thing opposite Waterstones. RazorSHarp 14-07-2005, 12:17 Are you Buying or Selling? your thread says "want to Buy" your post says "want to sell"? hachandhach 14-07-2005, 12:29 im selling i know i had a blonde moment when i put post on lazyfish 15-07-2005, 08:35 This might seem a bit odd, but it might be worth asking the Gardeners Rest pub in Neepsend. Last December they had a sale of African art going on there. |
