This is completely off-topic but I'm hoping one of you might be able to help.

I have some stuff in my garage that I need to get rid of before I move house next Monday. I've tried offering it on Freecycle but nobody is interested so it will have to go to the tip. Most of it would go in a car except for a piece of kitchen worktop about 6'6" - 7' long. I thought I could get the council (Veolia) to take it but they won't take anything over 6' long.

My plea is, can anyone help me break it up so it would go in a car - power saw, axe??? Or alternatively, is there anyone with a big enough van who would be willing to give me a lift to the tip with it?

Here's hoping.

I'm free Thursday night and can come over with my saw and do a 'Norfolk Park Chainsaw Massacre' job if you want. Anybody else free that evening to help this damsel in distress?
p.s. might cost you a sarnie and a cup of tea :D

Thanks, Scoobz, that would be great. A sarnie and a cup of tea will be gratefully provided.

I'm free, but I don't know what help I would be - I could direct you though - up a bit, left a bit......... while I'm eating a sarnie!:D

Thanks Hemlock, for the sentiment at least  but I'm sorted now.
