Over the summer period, I have been working on a research project in Sheffield city centre on air and noise pollution. Unfortunately a piece of our environmental monitoring equipment located on a lamppost on Milton Street, near the junction with Fitzwilliam Street, S1 4JR has gone missing, following a vehicle collision with the lamppost.

We are very keen to relocate the missing equipment and the data held on it, and are offering a £250 reward for information leading to the recovery of the equipment.

It is about the size of a shoe box and is an off white colour.

I would be extremely grateful if anyone who knows anything about this could contact me or post a note on the forum.

We believe the equipment went missing during late June 2005. If you have any information about this please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you in advance!

As it belongs to you, have you reported it stolen?

The police may be more helpful if you use this approach, rather than asking who did the clear up

Hi. Thanks for the advice.

I've contacted the police and some people in the council, but had no joy (so far) in relocating it.

Why do you need this equipment to measure the levels of noise and other polutants in the city centre... I'll tell you for free that .

A) it is noisey
and
B) it is filthy polluted (especially on high street with all the buses)
