Been thinking of doing this for a while as a sideline but wonder if there is still any money to be made any more, as so many others are doing it.

Any opinions?

How high up the food chain are you wanting to go?

Depends where these sites are hosted too... if it's at your home for example you won't make much money due to lack of reduncancy and the biggest thing, lack of speed once you get X number of clients.

Ah, but was looking at his other post re: a cpanel type thing, assumed he was wanting to (maybe?) set something up himself.

looked into doing that from home server but its not really possible with the bandwidth issues....I meant buying from a good commercial host and resellinghosting packages to customers.....can this still work?

With proper marketing it could, but the big problem is there's lots of free alternative webhosts out there that are good enough for joe bloggs..

anyone else would either buy a whole package of a website+domain+hosting from a company, or know what they are doing and sort it all themselves with a dedicated server or similar.

People can get offshore Master Reseller accounts with unlimited/unmetered everything for £4 a month. So yes, depending on what package you get you can make profit easily.

But, you become tech support, customer services, first point of call for all their niggly little issues - do you have time to do all these things as well?

It's not really worth it as a sideline. As a full time business maybe.
