Hi everyone
I'm new to Sheffield and thinking of buying in Norton, the little enclave between Graves Park, Oaks Park, Golf Course and the Bochum Parkway! Looks quiet and residential and ideal for family (please tell me if I'm mistaken!!). It doesn't seem to appear frequently on the 'best areas' chat. But what are transport links like to city centre-particularly University on Glossop Road? Also, where is nearest shop?
Thanks!

Lovely area, great buses to town, but you will need to get a second bus, the tram or walk along Glossop road to get to the uni, but they are all really frequent and with weekly bus passes it will work out cheaper that just the bus into town. As far as kids go, it a mixed bag, great primary schools, but secondry school choices are either Newfield or Meadowhead, both have their pros and cons - suggest you go to the Ofsted site if you want to check them out. Also the city council website has a database to check which catchment area your street and house number falls into:)

about half a mile away on meadowhead is morrisons supermarket , about quarter mile away is a spar grocery shop ,a newsagents , post office , butchers , banks , you wont find a much better area in my opinion , good luck .

I knew a lady who lived at norton nice area, good if you're sporty leisure centre pretty close and graves park isn't too far away. Theres definetly worse places to live, just count your lucky stars your not living near the town centre, all those drunken yound scallies!
