Just had over a pint !? of real iced coffee (made with espresso not powdered rubbish), at 5:30in the morning.

Now i have a headache and seem to be feeling a little dizzy,

The joys of caffine.. if I drink too much cola it makes my eyeballs feel like they are shaking and I get compulsive about the housework... :wow:

I've recently started drinking coffee alot - especially at work. I couldn't stand the stuff a few years ago, last night I bought my first jar of coffee. . . . :help: really does do the job though!

You will probably find that your fingers are twitching slightly (like you can't make them stop). This in indeed the effect of too much caffeine on the system. Luckily it's a drug that is flushed from the system quite rapidly and what you're feeling is the wearing-off effect.

The headache sounds a bit worrying though. I certainly would never advocate anybody drinking a pint of espresso (three 1oz shots are my limit). If you're using espresso shots they will probably contain 80mg of caffeine per shot (a little more if you're using darker roast). Believe it or not - drip brew coffee has more caffeine in it! 115mg per cup baby!!

I only ever drink two shots of espresso in the morning. If it's a particularly stressful day at work then I might grab a double at lunch. I do stick to a golden rule though - no espresso after 6:30pm (unless of course I'm drinking alcohol).

I bought some filter coffee off a woman at the Bowshaw car boot last Sunday and it's the nicest tasting stuff we have had for ages....it's out of date but who cares it's vacuum packed and is as good as gold, as well as being cheap. :thumbsup:

Thanks everyone..... I'm feeling better now, but at 9.00am I was sat in the register office trying to post my notices of intent to marry and i couldn't keep a straight face!! Calmed down tho now!:)

I remember reading some research on drugs rehabilitation where they showed spiders that had been fed on cocaine, caffeine and other lovelies. They then made them go cold turkey and the spiders that were denied caffeine faired the worst and so it looks like its harder to come off caffeine than cocaine.

Dehydration gives you a banging headache too.

When I drink coffe, which I do alot, I start feeling very hot and have to start taking my top off

Niether was I .... only that I do far too much...(housework that is!) :) you know the saying chained to the sink...

thats why women have smaller feet......so they can get nearer the cooker & the sink!!
