Calling all bikers, rockers and just plain silly people.

Buffy from the Classic Rock Bar is due to start a new rock night at the White Bear in Ecclesfield, every Friday night starting 22nd July.

The pub has a large car park, so plenty of space to grab a spot, plus it's easy to park outside the door.

Usual classic rock from Aerosmith to Asia, Maiden to Mansun and Whitesnake to Warrant.

Spread the word and rock on!

Additional CR dates for anyone interested in following the Buffy roadshow:

Wed 20th - a rock night in tribute of Sass at the Horse and Jockey (see thread about this)

First Sunday in August - Custom Bike and Trike Show at the Pheasant at Sheffield Lane Top.

Go past the Northern General up towards Lane Top, keep heading on into Ecclesfield, drop down the hill. Drive round past the Travellers and the police station. Turn left at the next major junction/traffic lights. Follow the road til it becomes a T junction. Turn left. The White Bear is on the left on this road.

I'm sure there's probably an easier way to get to the pub from town. If anyone can offer better directions then it may even help me! Ho ho.

You'll be fine! Chill!

The licencee is a rocker and wants to get more rockers up there so he can listen to his music with people who appreciate it. The car park is plentiful, ideal for bikes.

There's also a nifty area which would be ideal for an air guitar contest!

Goooood Luck with the new show.

Yeah Buffy, that night is a band pactice night for me in one of my bands.
If you can persuade them to introduce bands, later, we can play for you instead of playing for ourselves..

I won't have much of a chance to see you up there very often, but I'm glad you are spreading the CRB to the northern aspects of Classic Rock Bar Land.. It would be too greedy for us to expect you to stick to the south end of sheffield..

Well, if your local pub wants a rock night on, I can arrange this. Put it to your landlord and if they're interested let me know!

Not as much as me, you don't!
Again, it's not my pub so I'll have to work on them for stuff like that. Slowly, slowly, catchy monkey.

OK until up towards Lane Top and head to Ecclesfield. You will see a pub on the left hand side called The High Greave, take the next left turn after that to go through Ecclesfield village and past the Greyhound and the Ball. Turn left at the very end of that road (opposite Ecclesfied Church) and the White Bear is just around the corner. This will cut off the need to go past the Travellers and the police station.

When you say Rock, would that include the likes of U2 etc?

I'm quite into that sort of music but I dont fit into the "biker" stereotype look.

If I go will I stick out like a sore thumb and wish I'd never gone?

Classic Rock
19-08-2005, 12:39
You'll be fine. I like U2 so will happily play it for you. You don't need to be a biker type to like rock. I get all sorts of people at my shows.

Me and me mate Squeeker will be rocking as usual, and drinking the Dog!
