Help.

Can anyone convert a .DMG file to a .ISO file for me?

*smiles very nicely*

It's only a small file (< 1MB).

Please.

Open it, 'save as', choose the required format from the drop down?

(only guessing, as I have no idea what these files are, but thought you'd like the bump) ;)

Try this tool:
http://www.geocities.com/superdiggerus/DMG2ISOS.zip

From what I read it might not work with dvd images, but at that file size I guess that's not an issue :)

Hmm if all else fails, find a friend with a mac and get them to burn it to cd for you... Bit long-winded but ought to work!

If you haven't already, try renaming the .dmg file to .iso and try mounting it using daemon tools or some such software.

http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/portal/portal.php

If you can get it mounted, you can then do a 1:1 copy

Bah! renaming it doesn't work.
I tried to convert it in a Windows environment, but the dmg2iso utility doesn't work (I tried the .exe and Perl versions).

The win32 version aborts, while the perl version spits out an unreadable truncated version.

Looks like the only way to do it is to convert it under OS X, using hdiutil.

hdiutil convert /path/to/filename.dmg -format UDTO -o /path/to/savefile.iso

Theres a program called UltraISO that can read them.

UltraISO (latest version release 12th July) doesn't seem to like this file.
UltraISO, and dmg2iso *DO* however open .dmgs o.k. I tried them on some other images that I'd acquired.

Could the image that you have have been corrupted in any way?

Can you post a direct download link?

On THIS (http://richd.com/simon/developer.html) page, at the bottom.

It's the 'Download Example Photoshop Files' button.

Direct link to the .DMG:

I have a MAC on the desk behind me.

If I get a chance I'll see if toast like it, if it does, then I can help.

OK, I've just turned it on, I've just relised it that project your working on - I guess you want to get started.

Edit: Toast doesn't like it neither does auzip.
I guess its more work that I thought to get it converted.

Strange that. I've been able to open all the other .dmg images that I've gotten hold of, but not this one, or the SimonSources .dmg image from the site.

Maybe they're b0rked. 8(

Incidentally, .dmg images appear to be hfs formatted.
