View Full Version : Transport help needed
*Peaches* 18-06-2009, 11:01 I have just been asked to take in a very heavily pregnant cat, but she is in Halifax.
I would happily pay petrol costs if someone would please offer to take me to go and get her if the owners will not bring her
lottie_s 18-06-2009, 11:32 I would most deinately help you out if I had some time but with a baby, full time work and uni work to do aswell as the rescue to run Im afraid I dont have much time spare. Hope you find someone to take you soon. Is there no chance you could get the train to Halifax and get the owner to meet you at the other end if he/she wont travel up to Sheffield?
*Peaches* 18-06-2009, 11:32 I wouldn't want to do that and stress her out being heavily pregnant
pets@home 18-06-2009, 11:50 if nothing else crops up i could possibly help tomorrow morning but it would have to be early !

*Peaches* 19-06-2009, 08:36 Your an absolute star for taking me last night, I am SO glad you have a sense of direction, I would have been SO lost!
She's ok, doesn't know what to do with herself bless her. I don't think she's got long left, she's so uncomfortable and is just meowing.
wobblywill 19-06-2009, 08:48  Aren't there some lovely, helpful people on the Sheffield Forum
*Peaches* 19-06-2009, 09:53 Good job we went last night, she's just had one!
Moonbird 19-06-2009, 10:04 Good job we went last night, she's just had one!
OMG that poor cat, moving her probably brought on her labour let's just hope that the kittens are full term, her old owners should be ashamed...I guess that they won't be though, people like that make me sick!
*Peaches* 19-06-2009, 10:05 The kitten she's had appears full term and is feeding so fingers crossed :)
Moonbird 19-06-2009, 10:09 The kitten she's had appears full term and is feeding so fingers crossed :)
Thank goodness for that, my fingers are firmly crossed for the poor cat and her babies.
I am glad that I don't know who the owners were because I couldn't help myself, my wrath would be heavy upon them!
*Peaches* 19-06-2009, 10:13 On my youngests birthday too
*Peaches* 19-06-2009, 11:12 Number 2 just made an appearance
Hoorah for pets@home for coming to the rescue
Fingers crossed all goes well for the poor little mite - keep us updated on the births!!!
*Peaches* 19-06-2009, 12:04 number 3 just arrived :)
helenasq 19-06-2009, 12:15 Any more to come?
*Peaches* 19-06-2009, 12:15 I can feel another 1, but who knows
helenasq 19-06-2009, 12:20 Oh, good luck. Sounds like she's doing really well, bless her. I took a rabbit in last Friday night and she had babies on Sunday. Thought that was close but yours certainly wins :)
*Peaches* 19-06-2009, 12:22 I've had a pig give birth in a box after picking it up, I heard the squeal so I stopped.
She's doing very well bless her. I have chicken on the go for her when she's done
Just bear in mind that it's quite normal to have a break in the middle of labour and deliver the last kitten or half of the kittens later on, so it's not nothing to worry about if her labour appears to stop for a bit.
Give her a snug off me please.
*Peaches* 19-06-2009, 12:39 Will do :)
Next ones moving down, so not long. She's going roughly an hour between, vets said upto 4 hours so I'm not worried
*Peaches* 19-06-2009, 12:49 number 4 arrived, number 5 on its way down
helenasq 19-06-2009, 13:03 Good luck :)

helenasq 19-06-2009, 15:14 Awe bless, looks like she'll be busy looking after all those cuties :)
Moonbird 19-06-2009, 15:28 Aww sounds like they are doing well, are they all tabby or torties?
*Peaches* 19-06-2009, 15:45 1 is a light tabby, ones a dark tabby
2 are black on top and white underneath, so at a guess probably turn out like mum
Poor mite, thank goodness for Peaches and Pets@Home. You have my moby love if I can help in future x
*Peaches* 19-06-2009, 20:03 Much appreciated honey x
