View Full Version : Go to a premiership ground??
I need to research two things on each premiership ground:
1) The best place to sit in terms of atmosphere
2) What the food is like on match days and a possible rating of 1-5 (the more detail the better, anything which makes it stand out/what to avoid etc etc ).
Oh and also if you are a member of a supporters club from a premiership team, what your opinion is on your club's worst kit over the last 15-20 years and why.
If you could help that'd be gr8.
Thanks.
i went to old trafford last year, was amazing the food was lovely, mmm... pie.. bout a 7 outta 10,
Well I went to Wigan in May and since they are now Premiership status...
1) Best place to sit...If your a Wigan fan I'd say all the stands were lively in terms of atmosphere.
2) Food, nothing special, give them an average 3. Burger King close to stadium so I would go there first!
ReginaldD 14-07-2005, 15:00 Go on www.footballgroundguide.com it's where i look before i go to away games with Wednesday. It has all league grounds, lots of useful info, very good website for football fans.
Of the premiership grounds i've been to i'd say man city's is the best, Old Trafford is good but the look of the ground isn't as good it just looks like a big building to stuff lots of people in. At Old Trafford the atmosphere is always crap too, unless you are an away fan because there are loads of manutd fans who hardly go to games and don't know the words to songs. Can you tell i don't like man u fans yet?
If you go to Old Trafford most seats are good but try not to get in the top tier, bottom of the middle is quite good but if you get in the top tier take binoculars!
Nice post Reg, I haven't had the chance to go to the City of Manchester stadium (Yet!) but one of the best atmosphere's I have experienced was at main road. Can't wait to sample some of the modern Prem grounds in a few seasons (hopefully).
always the away end!! I actually find it nicer in championship grounds!! (mind u I have to!) went to old trafford a couple a couple of seasons ago and wasnt that impressed.. but the may have been the hype!
Guderian 27-07-2005, 12:44 Ha! A Hillsborough boy talking about quiet fans and no atmosphere!
Words fail me.
Best prem ground ive been to would have to be... (a few years ago):suspect: St.James' Park
NEWCASTLE UNITED.
good seat, good half time pie, good atmosphere.
its the fans that make a away match for me, some times you can meet some real good people at away games.
:gag: unless you go to the lane:gag:
:heyhey:
spyro2000 05-09-2005, 02:05 Hull Cities Stadium was recently voted the best ground in England :suspect:
Looks like The City of Hull is getting quite a few medals, that along with their recent topping of the worst place in England poll :D
bazmanau 05-09-2005, 14:42 For atmosphere you should try the Melbourne Cricket ground,
Telstra dome in Melbourne, Telstra stadium in Sydney and the Sydney Cricket ground amazing places.
The stadium of light has got an electric atmosphere when they start singing!!! I went to the playoffs there a few years ago and the hairs raised on the back of my neck at the beginning they were that loud!

Pains me to agree with a Mad Owl (aren't they all?) but St. James' is pretty special. Despite the fantastic ground, view, pies etc, just being in the same stadium as the great Sir Bobby did it for me. That fella is a legend.
