Just had a disgusting experience.
I'd moved some of Zach's food upstairs to the bottom of the attic steps to vac the floor. It was when we had all those flies.
I forgot all about it for a day or two and when I went back today, the food was gone and in its place was a huge plate of slippery maggots.
Quite the most nauseating thing ever!
I just wanted to share it with you all!
Hope you weren't eating!
I was eating but not put off remember I look after children who cane be grosser than that believe me !:)
When I had my first cat and she wasn't that fussed about food, we'd regularly have yesterday's food wriggling as I put it in the bin. It can really make you gip when they were eating from it only a couple of hours before.
That's one of the problems with wet food and exactly why my cats live on dry food and why I'd have preferred Molly to live on it too.
Unfortunately she had other ideas and now I get to serve her raw tripe instead

Whaaaaat? You had wriggling food? What on Earth were you feeding her?
/blerghhhhhh! Now that IS gross!!!
There's a stage just after the fly eggs have hatched when there's plenty of food left, but when you glance at it you see it move. This can happen after only a day in hot weather with cat food, although the cat will eat it right up to when the eggs hatch. It grossed me out too- hence the move to food that doesn't spoil as readily.

I think most cat owners who's cat's eat wet food know about the wriggling food :gag: oh Lord do I hate flies, if I see eggs in the food it goes straight down the loo no way are they ever going to hatch and make cute little maggots in my house
Thanks for that Karis, I don't quite fancy my breakfast now...never mind I need to lose weight anyway :hihi:

Now this is where having a greedy dog, that will eat everything in sight, in one go, comes into it's own!!
No chance of Evies food EVER wiggling, it's not down for long enough!
