Hello All,
I have a compaq presario 5000 5BW160 desktop computer running Windows 98SE. I have been having a problem with the computer freezing up on me when online. When I scoll or move the mouse and sometimes at typing my curser just Freezes and CTRL/ALT/DELETE don't work I have to completely "SHUTDOWN" the whole computer and start over again. I don't know what It could be..If anyone can help me I would greatly Appreciate it very much..

Ohhh Yes..now do you think he will spend his money on another computer for me to come online and communicate with others?
Hmmmmm I wish he would Paul, But it isn't that easy..
There has gotta be something I can do to this computer to stop it from Crashing/Freezing up you would think??

I have done Scan Disk, and Defragment, and ran a virus scan and bought a new mouse as I thought mine was faulty. Now, Would it be the Monitor going bad or my Video Card. My video card is on the Motherboard i found out 2 weeks ago from the guy at Armstrong Microsystems where we took it to get fixed and the man apparently thought It was Norton. But, HE WAS WRONG!..cost 50.00 for him to say that..May as well gave him the money and said "Happy HOLIDAYS"...LOL

Hopeing someone can help me out here!

Have you tried system restore, it works for me when my computer at work buggers up. Restore it to an earlier time when it was working fine.

Failing that I can only suggest you format and reinstall everything.
