View Full Version : The Descent - Whats it like? BruciesBabe 12-07-2005, 13:20 Has anyone seen it yet? whats it like? I'm going tonite and the reviews seem to have been quite good.. BruciesBabe 12-07-2005, 13:22 Ignore this guys, just seen that there is another thread with views on it! Mods, u can pull this if u want! x Swan_Vesta 12-07-2005, 13:23 It starts slowly but goes down very quickly :hihi: Sorry, couldn't resist. I've no idea I'm afraid - it looks a touch too scary for sensitive cowardly souls such as myself. DaBouncer 12-07-2005, 13:25 I didn't find it scary. I suppose it's jumpy in parts where things come out of no where but not scary (IMO). It IS however very clostrophobic as it deals with pot holing and really small/narrow tunnels with people being stuck (saying no more). All in all I'd say 7 out of 10. :D Deavon 22-07-2005, 02:04 I just watched the on-line trailer for this movie and it made me jump! I soooooo want to see it now... Broadband (turn the volume up) trailer (http://thehollywoodnews.com/article/10060505.php) Beakerzoid 22-07-2005, 18:57 First hour is ace...last hour is garbage! Overall, sub average shlock from a director who should know better! Jamie 23-07-2005, 01:27 Yeah ... really jumpy and scarey for the first 3/4 hour ... you soon get used to 'them' and then it's just funny ... I couldn't stop laffing. Worth seeing though !! hehehe Deavon 14-11-2005, 13:31 I'm watching this right now and I have to tell you. It's scary as hell! I keep having to look away. robbie 14-11-2005, 15:46 pooh. better than Dog Soldiers but still pooh. 4 jumps. all telegraphed badly (ok the jump wasn't what you'd expect but you knew it was there) it was ok'ish with all the claustrophobic cave stuff but then it got plain silly. Someone enjoyed Lord of the Rings I see :suspect: I can't stand horror that is unfreasible Deavon 14-11-2005, 17:51 I don't know then. I suppose I just got really into it because I was watching it on my own on a cold and dark November day. Still, I defy anybody to try to watch the whole bit about the compact fracture, ~where they push the bone back in:( ~ without wincing or having to look away! Yuck. rocketman 14-11-2005, 18:03 I think this is a great little 'no-brain' horror flick. It delivers real jumps and is not just a tired re-hash of other films. spoilers!!!!!!! The bleak ending is much better than the usual hollywood film ending and I love the fist glimpse you get of the 'things' from the POV of the video camera. That bit even made me wince and im reallly not squeamish :gag: |
