I have seen a company on the internet called anysubject.com and am interested in applying to be a tutor.
has anyone used tutors from this organisation? - or has anyone been a tutor with them before?
i would really appreciate feedback on this
cheers

Hi!
I used to tutor for them, i think i'm still on their books actually (not heard anything for a year!) . They are pretty useless - they will get you students but their fees are a little high for the service that they offer. They always sound half asleep on the phone and used to send me random students that were nothing to do with what i actually teach!
So in short - I wouldnt bother!
Try teacherspet.co.uk - it's local, and ellen who runs it is fantastic! (although i get quite a few of my students from adverts in tesco)

In a slightly off topic post, does the Tutors4me website generate alot of advertising revenue? Considering it is only likely to attract under 10 visits per user because of the service you provide, why don't you charge a small fee for people to advertise their tuition services on it?
Unless of course it isn't a business and the ad revenue is simply just to fund the cost of maintaining the website.

The ad revenue from Tutors4Me.co.uk at this stage is purely to (partially) cover the cost of running the website.
Our aim is to continue improving the functionality of the website (in our spare time and cost) and increase numbers of Tutors listed so that it becomes the primary Tutor website in the UK, both with the number of tutors, and functionality of the website.
To charge a fee (however small) would certainly deter some tutors from signing up at this stage. Once the website is a serious contender with all the other Tutor websites in the UK, and has also proven to tutors that it is successfully finding students for them, we may consider a small fee to continue to be listed, in order to cover the maintenance cost of running and updating the website. This however is far in the future.
