Does anyone know what is being built at the bottom of Cemetary Rd. - on the corner by the Waitrose garage. They've put a tower crane up over the weekend so I'm assuming it's going to be big

Bad_Hair_Day 12-07-2005, 09:23 Yep, luxury flats over looking Waitrose carpark - you can't get more luxurious than that! nick2 12-07-2005, 10:01 The irony will be that the people in the council block behind it are in exactly the same possition for about a tenth of the cost. And you obvioulsy haven't seen the proposals for the ones overlooking the loading bay of the Sheaf Market, THAT is luxury. Knoxville 12-07-2005, 10:04 Thanks for the replies. I'd guessed that it was going to be flats. They seem to be going up everywhere in Sheffield. nick2 12-07-2005, 10:12 They have to replace all the ones the council demolished because no-one wanted to live in them and they looked cheap and unsightly. Bad_Hair_Day 12-07-2005, 10:26 And the Cemetary Road ones will have the distant echo of the recycling bins being emptied in the carpark every week - that's got to be worth an extra couple of grand on the asking price! Just think how many flats they could have built if they'd knocked 4 Psalter Lane down - however, it's listed and therefore SCC cannot have modern flats built on the land that it is on! |
