Hello.

Does anyone know of alternative venues for a straight guy who's come over all gothic in his mid-life crisis (that's already lasted 30 years!) and is enchanted by gothettes (female goths?). The Kasbah used to have regular sessions years ago. Now't serious but just for fun - you'd make an middle aged man very happy

Corp has a goth room on a saturday night...though some people may question that comment!!

If you like stuff like Sisters of Mercy you should be ok.

By the way, be warned at Batfink...quite a few men in drag!

By the way I'm getting into goth music like SoM...would never have the ba**s to dress as a goth though! And I hit 30 yesterday...must be our age!

We (the makers of Batfink) run Everfink every Thursday night at The Nelson Rock Pub on Furnival Gate at the top of The Moor.

No charge to get in, special offers on drinks and Batfink resident and guest DJs playing all the flavours of Goth and alternative tunes.

Batfink itself is at Aqua on the first Friday of each month and there's a new 1980s event 'Notorious' on the third Friday at the same venue from August.

Edit: Oh and don't be put off at the thought of a couple of men in frocks at the club - it's only ever been an issue with anyone after too many special offer beers when the dancefloor was dark! ;)

Yeah Batfink and the small room at Corporation are about as goth as Sheffield gets (as far as i've noticed in the last year) Both good clubs, playing music that goths like, as opposed to just *goth* music <if you get my drift !> Goth, 80s, rock, industrial, EBM etc.

Ive seen *Ways of All Flesh* once <a goth/rock band from sheffield>, and IMHO, they were a bit like Paradise Lost. I liked them ! I think you guys might like them if you're into goth and rock now :) I see theyre playing at The Boardwalk at the end of July, I might go along.

Leeds would be the place for goth nights, would it not?

I don't know Leeds well, but i was told that *Wendyhouse* was the big goth club there. Great HUGE venue, very busy, quite a lot of goths, but not a goth club IMHO ! It played allsorts - goth/metal/indie/techno/pop downstairs and pretty hard industrial/techno upstairs. Ive only been once, but have been told by a couple of regulars that it used to be more of a goth night.

If you want to travel Leeds does have Goth nights, but Sheffield has just as many if you don't.
