I was walking my dog this morning up the cul de sac that leads to the footpath into the fields past the school when I saw a little cat. At first I thought she was playing then when I got closer I realised she had her hind legs stuck down a drain grate and was trying to crawl. As I walked up to her she flopped and was lying there twitching. I was just about to dash back home for the car and get her to the vets but a couple of seconds later she died in front of me. I know some people who live in that road so I went to them to ask if they knew who she belonged to, they thought it was one of their neighbours who is out at work. These kind people have put her little body in a box with a blanket to wait for the owners return.
There were no visible signs of injury and I suspect she was hit by a car, lots of cars turning there during the school run. She was a pretty little thing and looked quite young.
RIP little cat, run and play at Rainbow Bridge where you are safe from cars.

Bless her. Run free little girl. Xxxx
I hope they find the owners cos they'll be worried sick if she's missing. I think not knowing whats happened to them is worse.

I just found out that the owners have been found. They are the neighbours of my friend and the little cat has been taken for cremation. Everybody is very sad about this loss.
There was nothing that could be done to save her.
oh how awful poor little thing at least her owners know what happened to her and bury her.
RIP Kitty x
I have seen two dead cats in the road over the last week. Ironically the first one was when driving back from cat place to pick up kittens and the second one was coming back from vets with kittens in car. Looks like someone had just hit one and was stopping. The other one was on the pavement in broomhill towards crosspool on the A57. Both were black and white. Its so sad to think they are someones friend and beloved pet and makes me worry about where my cats will go when old enough to go outside.

Bless you for having the intention of taking her to the vet.
I hope she didn't linger for a long time.

The owners will be glad that there was someone who found her and that cared. Its worse if they go missing and you never find out what happened to them. It always amazes me how some people can just see a cat hurt or dead at the side of the road and drive past, without stopping to see if they can help or at the very least inform the owners (if it's wearing a tag).
I cannot bear the thought of losing my baby to a traffic accident and that is why she is well and truly a house cat, safe and sound.
Bless you sweetie. Poor cat must have been in so much pain:(
RIP little puster x
