View Full Version : Where can I get Railway Sleepers from? bluevan 08-06-2009, 16:14 Hi I'm after 5 Railway sleepers, I want the light weight ones tho, It's to finish my pond, thanks :) 2899norfolk 08-06-2009, 16:16 Hiya bluevan, try ebay there is a place in Sheffield that supply them......Regards...pomy. big_g 08-06-2009, 16:47 What do you class as lightweight? I've got sleepers from M-Track before. They're about £14 each with £10 delivery (that was a couple of years ago). These are the softwood 8 foot 6 inch sleepers - but not lightweight. They weigh about 12 stone each. If anyone is wanting to order large quantities for trade, one place where I know they are currently replacing large quantities of old wooden sleepers with concrete ones is IRELAND; they might be quite happy to export old sleepers by the truckload to order lol. ruffday 08-06-2009, 17:47 If you want new then theres a garen centre on the road to chesterfield from the top of eckington that does them for around £25. Hill top garden centre i think. Bruno 08-06-2009, 18:27 I saw some in Cosco the other day, cant remember how much tho bladebeer 08-06-2009, 18:43 Hi I'm after 5 Railway sleepers, I want the light weight ones tho, It's to finish my pond, thanks :) There is a place by the side of the princess royal at woodhouse mill, my mate has just bought some and they are lighter than normal sleepers or try M track as someone suggested and ask for new ones which come in natural colour or brown. Be careful of second hand ones which could be creosoted , and which fish don,t like . Be careful of second hand ones which could be creosoted , and which fish don,t like . I've recently bought some from m-track, they only charge £10 delivery in Sheffield too, which is not bad at all. They also do cutting, @ £1.50 per cut. www.m-track.co.uk scorpion36 08-06-2009, 19:53 i think there is a place in Alfreton (derbys) that used to sell them......its on the main high street. leosharpe 08-06-2009, 20:27 m track sleepers yell.com Bonjon 16-09-2009, 13:10 Another vote for M-Track, hardwood sleepers that we bought last year were 16-18ish 7ft by 1 ft, really heavy and a lovley wood(jarrah). billandben 16-09-2009, 18:25 building suppies holme lane s6 £15 bigphill 16-09-2009, 18:51 hardcores blds merch, claywheels lanes. |
