What do you class as lightweight?

I've got sleepers from M-Track before. They're about £14 each with £10 delivery (that was a couple of years ago).

These are the softwood 8 foot 6 inch sleepers - but not lightweight. They weigh about 12 stone each.

Some of the Railway preservation groups, such as the locomotive preservation group at the Roundhouse shed near Chesterfield, might sell old sleeper to raise funds...
If anyone is wanting to order large quantities for trade, one place where I know they are currently replacing large quantities of old wooden sleepers with concrete ones is IRELAND; they might be quite happy to export old sleepers by the truckload to order lol.

If you want new then theres a garen centre on the road to chesterfield from the top of eckington that does them for around £25. Hill top garden centre i think.

There is a place by the side of the princess royal at woodhouse mill, my mate has just bought some and they are lighter than normal sleepers or try M track as someone suggested and ask for new ones which come in natural colour or brown. Be careful of second hand ones which could be creosoted , and which fish don,t like .

I've recently bought some from m-track, they only charge £10 delivery in Sheffield too, which is not bad at all. They also do cutting, @ £1.50 per cut. www.m-track.co.uk

i think there is a place in Alfreton (derbys) that used to sell them......its on the main high street.

Another vote for M-Track, hardwood sleepers that we bought last year were 16-18ish 7ft by 1 ft, really heavy and a lovley wood(jarrah).
