View Full Version : No Pebbles for Lottie ...
The breeder has fallen out with us completely and Pebbles is no longer ours (despite signing a contract and paying a deposit).
She took offence at me asking people about hearing tests as she didn't want to do one. And said she would sue me for posting pictures of me with my dog. (pictures which she invited me to take)
So, I'm now on the look out for another breeder and we think we've found one.
This woman is cruel and apparently others have said so too. She's slandered the name of a big reputable breeder by saying they are a puppy farm and taken back her word because I wanted the best for my puppy.
At least I found out before we got her...
So wish me luck in my quest for another puppy!!!!
:( Lotti, she sounds a bit of a evil woman. Can you not get your deposit back, seen as she terminated the contract. I hope you find a puppy soon.

StarSparkle 11-07-2005, 12:16 I'm so sorry to hear about Pebbles, Lotti :(
That woman sounds a nasty piece of work.
Good luck with finding another puppy soon - I'm sure there's lots of puppies out there just waiting for the chance of a loving home.

She has said she will pay us back deposit.
Well since she told my mum 'I know people in high places and Lottie won't get another puppy' I have had two breeders approach me appalled at what happened and have three litters to go see :P
I'm not worried and the breeder has been reported to both the dalmatian welfare - it is code of conduct to hearing test all puppies. and the british dalmatian club for slandering the name of another breeder saying they are a puppy farm because they beat her dogs at shows.
What goes around comes around.

PIF_Tails 11-07-2005, 21:02 Lottie,
Sounds like a lucky escape on your behalf. If she is funny about basic health checks and funny with you over pictures. It does sound like she is more a back yard breeder rather than a true blue responsible breeder.
If you have time Lottie, read this link it is an easy guide to spotting a responsible breeder. It is a cat link but most of the points will apply to dog breeders too.

Good luck in finding your perfect healthy puppy :D

Sorry to hear you won't get Pebbles the Dalmatian. I hope you are able to get another one.
Best of luck.
Such a shame, hope you aren't too upset.
But hope these other breeders you are in touch with are more ethical and trustworthy. Sol what are you going to do now? Waiting for any litters? You have to get a dalmation dog soon cos' then we can start calling you Spottie Dottie Lotti.
lol Sam,
I know, I'm known on some forums as Dottie_Lottie have been for a long time
thanks all for your lovely comments.
Well, the original breeders did apologise and explain some points and offered us Pebbles again but we can't take her now.
I'm going to see another puppy in a week they'll only be very young but she is willing to let me go because I'm going for my op when it'll be time to go and view them.
This one sounds fab and was actually recommended to me so I'm happier but obviously I'll see what I think when I get there.
They seem pretty good though!
Thanks again all, I really appreciate it!

steevie/d 15-07-2005, 16:18 im sure they made a film about this nasty piece of work cruella de ville was in it hope you get a doggy soon
Lottie, so sorry to hear that you're not getting pebbles.
It's strange, i've heard a few stories like this (not with the same breeder I must add). It seems that some breeders are very sensitive and hightly strung and take offence at the slightest thing. A friend of mine asked for some photo's of the puppy she was due to get (so that she could have a full record of pictures) and the breeder took offence and refused to let her have the puppy just days before she was due to pick it up!
Anyway, she soon found another breeder and has a wonderful dog, so all ended well.
We ended up going to North Wales to collect our beautiful doggie (Taylor) and the woman there was well strange - she wouldn't let me daughter go to the loo - despite the fact that we'd driven all the way without a break (beause the breeder kept phoning me on my mobile asking where I was)! She said if we were more than 10 mins late we wouldn't be able to have the puppy :loopy: Strange people...
Hels, that certainly is weird!
She let us take photos etc, and seemed very lovely, but then said she would sue me for posting the pictures on here and the dog forums etc.! Well, I did tell her I would be and she didn't have a complaint...
She has apologised since and I do feel bad that I have upset her, and I think she feels bad, she told my mum that she feels awful and wicked, but we've found another one now - sorry, in hindsight I'm not posting any pictures or names until I have her!
She should be coming home around August Bank Holiday though, we're going to see her next weekend all being well and then we'll decide if we're having here!
Thanks,
Lottie
