Has anybody seen this at the pics yet? My OH wants to see it as it's in 3D apparently but it looks like a kids film to me. Is it any good?

It's a great film, though I shouldn't have taken my 3 yr old to see it. Seeing Mum with black buttons as eyes is possibly not the most healthy thing to witness for the young mind.

I'm a bit dubious about the 3D aspect . . . i don't see the point particularly.

I took a 9 and 10 yr old to see this film, they were a bit spooked by it to be honest which is unusual for them.
I quite enjoyed the 3d effects.

Haven't seen it yet, but if it's anything like to book then I would think it's great. I love the book.
It's based on a children's book by Neil Gaiman, but I think it's more the older end of the child spectrum.

I saw it and thought it was excellent. The 3D animation is excellent!

Thought it was very spooky..... but also brilliant. I wouldn't say it was for younger children though.

i went to see it and was thoroughly impressed by the 3D effects.

i went to a free screening which was full of kids aged 5 upwards, but id say half the audience were adults and didnt have kids in tow.

i really enjoyed it and the 3D was a welcome surprise. i didnt know until i got there that is was 3D and was a bit sceptical.....im now a convert!

My eyes took a bit of getting used to the 3d (the 5 beers before cant have helped though), and loved the dark and cryptic 'frenchness' of the approach. Will probably be one I'll buy on dvd when it comes out. One to scare the future kids with buhahaha.

I saw it without the 3D and was a little disappointed. The over use of flashy animation kept reminding me I was watching a film so I struggled to connect with the characters.

Seeing it in 3D will probably make it far more worthwhile since a large portion of the film was dedicated to impressing the audience with technological brilliance rather than telling the story. 3D cinema is really impressive these days and can turn a below par film into a great experience (Beowulf anyone?).

It is amazing for both young and old. It has an amazing story. It could have been made with real people. A definate classic!
