i am wanting to re_paint the front of my shop but i want it doing in a *nice tasteful* grafitti style swirls and bubbles. there isnt much shop front to paint as it is mostly all windows.
i couldnt see a problem but hubby and a couple of other people have said that the council might not like it and make me cover it over?

does anyone know if i will or wont be allowed to do this?

I have found out the correct way to see about this being done to your shop the legal way.
You will need to contact the Planning Department at Sheffiled City Council as the frontage of your shop is classed as a advertisement. You will need to ring them up and ask if planning is required for what you intend to do. They would need to see plans etc. This is due to local resedants and other buisnesses will need to have a say in if they like it or not...like when you want to put a conservatory up etc. Better to do it this legal way than the other way as you may end up with a Legal Notice being served on you to remove it...that would be a right pain!!!!
